Alert
All Terrain Vehicles and Utility-Type Vehicles
June 19, 2025
Effective Immediately! On March 11, 2025, the Nebraska Governor signed into law LB 196, and Section (2) and Section(3) regulate ATVs and Utvs. Loomis currently has an ordinance allowing the use of these vehicles, which is still allowable in the Statute. However, our ordinance allows the use of these vehicles from Sunrise to 10:00 pm, which was legal when we adopted it. Unfortunately, the new Section (3)(a) reads as follows: "An all-terrain vehicle or a utility-type vehicle may be operated as authorized in Subsection (2) of this section when such operation occurs: (i) Between the hours of Sunrise and Sunset; or -(ii) Between the hours of Sunset and Sunrise for purposes of snow removal within the corporate limits of a city or village or within an unincorporated Village". This passed 48-0-1. So, at Sunset, and unless you are moving snow, all Suvs, Razors, Utvs, and Golf Carts must be parked. Please adhere to State Law and do not knowingly violate our ordinance, which will be revised to adhere to the recent changes at the July meeting. The penalty for violation is stated in the ordinances, found on the Village Website.
Thank you.
